The one-day seminar organized by the NFPE, RMS 'TV' Division has become a glorious
success in terms of the participation of our members, especially the young brigade, and
the quality of classes by the eminent speakers. The official inauguration of this blog has
also been organized during the function. The classes on various topics have been
delivered by Com. R. Radhakrishnan (popularly known as "Annan") and Com. M. Krishnan,
Secretary General, NFPE. Com. M N Radhakrishnan Nair presided over the function.
Leaders of NFPE TV and our sister unions have delivered felicitation speeches.

Even-though on the short notice, the response from the participants enriched the event. The last time change of venue might have delayed some of them, though. The presence of the GenNext in substantial numbers added much needed energy. Amidst the heavy rain that lashed out in Thiruvananthapuram City, the turn out of women members is also to be appreciated.
The day began with the registration of the participants. Then came the first session of the seminar where Com. R. Radhakrishnan, former President, Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad, elegantly handled the eager audience with his mastery over the subject of Workplace & Union. "Unions are not always meant for individuals to gain some personal gains, they are for the fruitful growth of our society," he pointed out. He urged the comrades to conquer their "anger, greed, envy, ego and fear" and fight for the collective growth of humanity. Without any aid to know the time, he finished the class on time.

The second session opened with the discussion on the previous session and on any other matters related to union and society in general. A panel of members were selected to review the suggestions and questions. A massive response from our members truly justified the need for such a session.

As "Annan" took over the control of the dais, the comrades went back to the learning mode. This time it was "Right to Information Act and its possibilities." From the first RTI Act of Sweden in 1766 (the Freedom of the Press Act which granted public access to Government documents) to our own RTI Act 2005 he explained everything with the clinical precision of a master surgeon and asked everyone to use it to eradicate corruption in our country.

Time to take a mid-day break arrived with a twist. The lunch was cooked and brought by some of our valuable comrades for their colleagues. The change from 'bought food' to 'brought food' provided enough food for thought too.

Enter the leader.
Com. M. Krishnan officially inaugurated our blog, yes, the one you are reading now, with a thunderous applause from the GenNext comrades mainly. "Website or blog will strengthen our union and will make the communication a lot easier," he said.

The man on a mission, Com. M. Krishnan ventured into educating the audience with a flawless, as always, presentation of the journey of NFPE. From the recreation club of Culcutta GPO to today's CHQ; from the twenty point memorandum of Babu Tarapada to our demands to the seventh pay commission; from the first Prime Minister to the present one, Com. M. Krishnan painted the history of our organization with simple, but strong words. He demanded each comrade to rise to the occasion and fight for what is right.
